On September 29th, the live “ Research on Covid-19 and mental health in Brazil ” was held, part of the series of lives organized by the Coordination of Educational Actions (Caed) and the CovidPsiq project. In addition to the project developed at UFSM, some of the other projects presented are part of COVID-MINDS, an initiative by University College London to aggregate studies and data on the impact of Covid-19 on mental health at a global level. Discover the initiatives Now available on the YouTube Channel , the live stream brought together six projects developed in Brazilian universities focused on studies in mental health: CovidPsiq – Monitoring the evolution of post-traumatic symptoms, depression and anxiety during the Covid-19 pandemic in Brazilians, is already in its third phase and is open for general participation, even for those who did not participate in the previous phases. The results of the first phase are now available.
The project was presented by Vitor Crestani Calegaro, researcher responsible for CovidPsiq, assistant professor at the Department of Neuropsychiatry at UFSM, coordinator of the Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic at the Integrated Center for Care for Accident Victims (Ciava) at the Santa Maria University Hospital and a psychiatrist at Coordination of Educational Actions (Caed), providing assistance to the Institution's students. Cavalcante Passos is a professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Forensic Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) and Permanent Professor at the Postgraduate Program in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at UFRGS. He presented the study “ Impact of the new coronavirus pandemic on mental health: aspects related to suicide, media consumption and health of healthcare professionals ”. Christian Loret de Mola Zanatti has a degree in Human Medicine – Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia – and a PhD in Epidemiology from the Federal University of Pelotas. He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande and a collaborating professor at Ufpel, in addition to being a collaborating professor at UFPEL's postgraduate course. He presented the study called “ Cohort of live births in Rio Grande in 2019 : WebCovid-19 follow-ups.
